Free Time

Yesterday I had a little extra time on my hands (a rare occasion these days) and so I decided to sit down and try to sketch.  The last time I tried to sketch a croqui (fashion figure) was probably about 4 years ago.  So, to say the least, I am a little rusty.  Sketching has never been my strong point, although I have always wanted to be able to draw.  There is something about being able to make a beautiful picture out of pens, pencils, and markers that is just romantic to me.  Overall, this is not the worst croqui I have ever drawn, but I would really like to know what you think dear readers.  Don't worry, you won't break my heart if you don't like her.  I know she has her flaws; for one, her head is a little too big and her shoulders are a little too narrow (which adds to the overall largeness of her head).  Her feet are also a little small for a fashion figure of her height.  But, these are merely details.  So beyond the details, what do you think about my artistry?  I would truly love to know!

Keep in mind, this was done in pencil on newsprint, and then scanned.  Also, pay no mind to the grid or the extra face in the background.  I like to conserve paper if I can.  Enjoy!
