Pixie Power

Let me begin by saying I don't know Emma Watson very well, I've never seen the Harry Potter movies (I keep insisting to myself that I will read the books first), so I don't know a whole lot about her other than she is the cover girl for this months Marie Claire, and she recently chopped off her long, thick hair into a pixie cut.

I have to say that I admire her boldness to make such a dramatic change.  A couple years ago, I got a little ballsy and decided to chop off all of my hair into an oh-so-chic A-line Bob.  Not my forte.  I have spent the last two years trying to grow it back out.  Sadly, my hair grows at a snail's pace, so it's been a long road.  The other day I was chatting with my hairstylist at my 8 week trim about that infamous haircut (which by the way, we both got at the same time, and are both still growing out), about how cute other girls look with short hair and how they pull it off so well, but that it just didn't feel right for us.  She said something that made perfect sense to me: "I just don't feel sexy with short hair."  That's it!  That is what I was lacking with short hair.  Sure, it looked cute on me, I pulled it off well.  But, when I got down to the nitty gritty, it just didn't make me feel sexy (that, and on a day when all I wanted to do was put it all up in a ponytail, it was too short for even that.)  So, back to Miss. Watson.

How cute is this girl?!  The best part about her is that she is not one of those typical 20 year old pop tarts that can't wait to take their clothes off to extend their fame.  She is very down to earth, smart, and ambitious.  Although I haven't followed her career, I can say from what I do know of her, I like her.  And I do, although I don't think I could ever pull it off, adore her pixie hair.  She exudes confidence, and pulls off the style quite well.  So good luck on all of your ambitions Miss Watson, and I hope to see more of you soon!

  2. I wish I could pull off the hair, the outfit I would rock any day, and I do need to join the club, I agree.
